Continuing the Legacy

Welcome to Haskas Greek Dancing, a traditional Greek dancing school proudly continuing a legacy that began in 1974.

With a rich history of teaching and sharing Greek dance, our school is dedicated to preserving the beautiful traditions, music and dances of Greece for future generations.

Founded by Mrs Sophia Haskas, who devoted many years to teaching and nurturing a love of dance, the school has become a special part of the Greek community in Sydney.

Today, her daughter, Helen, has taken over the school, proudly continuing her mother's legacy, passion and dedication to Greek dancing, with the assistance of Georgette. Together, they are committed to keeping the traditions of Haskas Greek Dancing alive while welcoming a new generation of dancers.

Sharing Our Heritage Through Dance

Based at St Spyridon Parish Hall in Kingsford, Sydney, we welcome children, teenagers and adults of all ages and experience levels. Our classes provide a friendly and supportive environment where students can learn traditional Greek dances, develop confidence, build friendships and connect with their Greek heritage.

Throughout the year, our students have the opportunity to perform at various cultural and community events, including the annual Greek Independence Day celebrations at the Sydney Opera House. These performances allow our dancers to celebrate their heritage and share the beauty of Greek dance with the wider community.

At Haskas Greek Dancing, we believe Greek dancing is more than just learning steps. It is about family, community, culture and passing on traditions that have been cherished for generations.

Whether you are reconnecting with your Greek roots, introducing your children to their heritage or simply looking to experience the joy of Greek dancing, we would love to welcome you to our school.
